GCC to set up engg, med colleges soon: KN Nehru
CHENNAI: Municipal Administration Minister KN Nehru on Tuesday said that steps would be taken to set up medical and engineering colleges through city Corporation.
After launching a new logo for the corporation-run Chennai schools here, the minister said that to bring all-round development, the Chief Minister has been implementing various projects in the city. “Transport corporations are running medical and engineering colleges with 32% seats reserved for them. This helps children of the transport corporation to pursue higher studies,” he said.
In a similar way, the GCC could run medical and engineering colleges, which would be set up soon. “For this, the State Health Minister should support us,” he said.
Nehru also released a documentary on Chennai schools, which included details about the infrastructure and teaching methods followed. He also distributed badges to school students who were formed into different groups.
