CHENNAI: A 28-year-old restaurateur who has two 'elite paan parlours' in the city- on Nungambakkam High Road and in Shenoy Nagar was on Saturday arrested by the police along with an accomplice, a tattoo artist for peddling ganja.

The arrested persons were identified as Vijay Roshan Daga, managing director of Kattha Chuna and Thomas Alexander (27), who works at a Tattoo studio in Nungambakkam. Both the accused are residents of Anna Nagar.

Nungambakkam police had received a tip off about the accused peddling ganja in the neighbourhood in broad daylight and a police team had apprehended them near Jaganathan road off Nungambakkam High Road.

Police said that they found 1.1 kg of ganja in their possession. After seizing the narcotic substance from them, police arrested the duo. They were produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody.
