CHENNAI: A mobile application to enable traffic police to track the ambulance and ensure clearance of traffic facilitating easier and faster movement of the ambulance was launched here on Sunday. This would be made possible through mSirenPilot, a GPS-enabled emergency ambulance tracker for the traffic police in Chennai.

The mSirenPilot was launched by Gleneagles Global Health City that uses the advanced technology to assist hospitals and traffic police to monitor the movement of ambulances while transporting patients.

The app was launched by Actor Yogi Babu in the presence of Dr. Alok Khullar, CEO and Dr Sriram R, HOD - Senior Consultant, Department of Accident - Emergency from Gleneagles Global Health City on Sunday.

The application mSirenPilot also offers a free mobile app powered by the world's first "Smart Siren Technology", which enables road drivers and traffic police to proactively create a Green Corridor and assist emergency ambulances in moving faster through traffic.

“The time delay in treating critical patients worsens the outcome of the treatment. Golden hour is the first 60 minutes in a patient’s life where the patient can be saved if the right treatment is provided. Our emergency team can efficiently track and coordinate with the ambulance to improve the treatment provided.”, said Dr Sriram R, HOD - Senior Consultant - Department of Accident - Emergency, Gleneagles Global Health City.

As a large number of deaths are lost due to delay in treatment, mainly because the patient is not brought in during the 'Golden hour', the app aims at making the process faster. "With the launch of the mSirenPilot - A Smart Ambulance Platform, support is extended to patients to interact with the hospital's emergency response team more efficiently and effectively for better outcomes, " said Dr Alok Khullar, CEO, Gleneagles Global Health City.
