Class 8 individual candidates asked to register online

CHENGALPATTU: The Chengalpattu Collector Rahulnath on Friday urged the individual candidates to commence online registration for Class 8 public examinations from September 6 to 10.

In a statement, the Collector said, “Those who have completed 12.5 years of age as of October 01 and plan on appearing for the Class 8 public examination for individual candidates can register online or in person at the service centers mentioned on the website www.dge.tn.gov.in. “An examination fee of Rs 125 along with the application and online registration fee Rs 50 costing Rs 175 in total would be levied from the candidates and the same can also be paid directly at the service centers, he said. Those who fail to apply on the above dates can register on September 12 and 13 by paying an additional Tatkal application fee of Rs 500, he added.

Candidates who are applying for the examination for the first time should submit their attested copy of school transfer certificate, copy of registration paper, copy of birth certificate along with the online application. Candidates who have already written the Class 8 public examination and failed the subjects must submit the copies of the marks certificate and certificates from the previous examination. Individual candidates should submit a self-addressed envelope with postal charges of Rs 42 along with the application.

It is to be noted that only online applications will be accepted and those that arrive by post will be rejected. “Candidates who need detailed information of the same can log onto www.dge.tn.gov.in. website,” he added.

Earlier, the Collector along with Chengalpattu MLA Varalakshmi inspected the construction of a central kitchen for providing breakfast to the government school students from Classes 1 to 5 in primary schools in and around Chengalpattu.
