Nepali gang held for burglary at retired judge's house in Anna Nagar
Gnanaprakasam and his son Vivekanandan who found their house burgled on March 29 lodged a complaint at Anna Nagar police station.
CHENNAI: A four-member Nepali gang who escaped with five sovereigns and Rs 5 lakh from a retired judge's locked house in Anna Nagar was arrested.
Among the accused, R Lallu alias Lal (38) and R Santhosh (45) worked as security guards in the city, while J Ganesh (36) who already has a burglary case pending against him in Poonamallee and managed to flee back to Nepal.The fourth accused was identified as Boopendra (23) of Nepal.
Lallu who noticed retired judge Gnanaprakasam's house locked for many weeks informed Ganesh and the latter reached Chennai and hatched a plan to loot the house.

A case was registered and the suspects were identified with the help of CCTV footage. The Nepali gang was secured from their hideout and 75 per cent of the valuables were seized from them.
Assistant Commissioner Ravichandran said that the gang travelled to different cities with the looted money and spent it lavishly.
They were remanded in judicial custody on Monday night.
