CHENNAI: Justice G Chandrasekharan passed the direction on a plea by the 73-year-old to quash the FIRs pending against him in the alleged sexual harassment case.

The petitioner submitted that the complainants say that the incident occurred in 2010. However, the police filed the FIRs after ten years now. He further claimed that the FIRs should be quashed as the charge sheet has not been filed in the case till now.

The police objected to the arguments made by the godman submitting that since a complaint was lodged a few months back, the cases were also booked against him now.

“As of now, there are several cases pending against Siva Shankar Baba. Minor girls were found to be victim in a few cases,” the police noted.

On recording the submissions, the bench directed the police to file their counter and adjourned the matter for two weeks.

CB-CID police arrested Siva Shankar Baba in June 2021 and he was under incarceration since then. The baba was booked under the Pocso Act and TN Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act.
