‘Made in Tamil Nadu’ is our govt’s goal, says CM MK Stalin
Asserting that the State has the resources and versatility to grow manifold in terms of exports, Chief Minister MK Stalin said his government was aiming to take “Make in Tamil Nadu” to every nook and cranny of the world.

Presiding over the ‘export conclave’ organised by the Industries Department here on Wednesday, during which MoUs worth Rs 2,120 crore were exchanged, Stalin said like ‘Made in India’, the idea of ‘Made in Tamil Nadu’ should echo across the globe. “It is not just my desire, but goal. Our government will take the path to achieve that goal,” he said.
Recalling the target of growing the State’s economy to $1 trillion before 2030, the CM said, “To achieve it, our exports should be enhanced from the existing $26 billion to $100 billion before 2030.”
The government was working day and night to overcome the challenge of taking Tamil Nadu to the global trade map as a hub of enormous growth, Stalin said, appealing to the private sector and public undertakings to work in tandem to achieve the target.
Industrial growth was not the growth of one sector, but the overall growth of the State and country, Stalin noted. “Growth of industrial sector means every sector is growing,” he said, urging officials to organise more such conclaves, especially in districts outside Chennai.
During the conclave, MoUs worth Rs 2,120.54 crore were signed with 24 industry partners, which are expected to generate employment for 41,695 persons. Of the 24 MoUs, 14 were 100 per cent export oriented units with a cumulative investment of Rs 1880.54 crore. The remaining 10 would provide employment for 2,545 persons.
Stalin handed over allotment orders to the first two companies proposed to come up in Polymer Park, and also released Tamil Nadu Exports Promotion Strategy and MSME Exporters’ Handbook.
