He claimed that he merely wanted to establish the unlawful and unjust method adopted by studio in the illegal dispossession and unlawful denial of entry in his personal chamber.

In a clarification plea filed before the court, Ilayaraja submitted that given the manner and the way in which he was treated, he was no longer interested to work from this place any further and that he wanted the court to let him access his chambers under the court supervision, in the presence of an Advocate Commissioner if necessary, for at least a day as an interim measure, which he been seeking for the past 12 months.

“The worth of the articles is such that no amount of money can compensate. They have both commercial value and some of them have great sentimental value. In fact, all of the belongings that he had and was using are to be treated as treasure for future generations let alone the musical notes for thousands of songs that he has composed and the same are lying over in the locked chambers and are listed out in detail furnished before the court,’ the clarification plea said.

The plea noted that the court intervention was being sought on legal grounds, that a person in admitted possession of a property can be dispossessed only by due process of law or in accordance with law and not by deploying bouncers in the property and illegally blocking the entry.

Ilaiyaraja has been in the possession and usage of the recording theatre for more than three decades, the plea added.
