The man had approached the victim on Thursday again after he raped her on Wednesday when she was alone at home. However, the victim and her husband managed to nab him and handed him over to the police.
The arrested was identified as Mohamed Arif. According to the police, he approached the victim on Wednesday asking for some water and when the woman went inside followed her and sexually assaulted her. Though the woman and her husband had not lodged a complaint fearing social stigma, they managed to nab the suspect when he returned on Thursday with the same intention.
In another case, Kanathur police arrested a web series director for alleged sexual abuse of a female actor.
The accused has been identified as Ranjith, 30. The complainant had also alleged that two of the assistants of the arrested man too had tried to sexually abuse her.
Police said the woman was troubled by the director seeking sexual favour from her after which she decided to complain with Kanathur police. She had reportedly warned them at least twice to refrain from any such acts. However, the director is said to have sent her obscene suggestive messages.
After investigation, the police arrested the director.
