“The past nine months have been very difficult for all of us. Not just because we have not performed together, but the inability to meet often, discuss music, argue or just laugh has left us all feeling alone. Friends in concert is an attempt to alter this status quo. Music happens when there is an exchange of ideas and thoughts between musicians. From ideation to performance, this musical is a collaborative effort that brings to you Carnatic music with all its diversity,” TM Krishna tells us.

Poongulam Subramaniam, K Arun Prakash, Sangeetha Sivakumar, RK Shriramkumar, Dr R Hemalatha, N Guruprasad, Praveen Sparsh, Anirudh Athreya, TM Krishna, Chandrasekara Sharma, HN Bhaskar, B Sivaraman and Akkarai Subhalakshmi are the 13 musicians who are part of this production.

“When I suggested this idea, all of them were so excited. It is shot in a way that is very rare for Carnatic music production. The visual experience is going to be unusual. Friends in Concert has five segments that have different aspects of Carnatic music presented in a creative way. Viewers can expect some unusual combination in this production,” he adds. This production will be released on December 4 at 7 pm and will be live for 60 hours.
