As Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh is bracing for a tumultous cyclone, Tamil Nadu's Revenue Commissioner Paneendra Reddy along with Revenue Minister RB Udhayakumar met with the press.

Paneendra Reddy taking note of the fast-filling Chembarambakkam dam told that the residual water shall be diverted to Adyar river after prior intimation.

So he advised people not to fear about this issue.

Since it has been raining pitchforks in the catchment areas around Chembarakkam, the dam with the maximum capacity of 24 feet will reach to 22 feet pretty soon.

Minister Udhayakumar also briefed on his part on the preparations in place to tackle with this cyclone.

The cyclone Nivar will cross Tamil Nadu and Puducherry between Mamallapuram and Karaikal accompanied by squally winds gusting at the speed of 110-120 Kmph over the next 24 hours.
