Duo harasses woman on road, attacks cops

 On Sunday, a 20-year-old woman complained to Kodungaiyur police that two men harassed her on the road and sub-inspector Sivasankaran visited the suspects’ house for an inquiry. When he tried to take the duo to the police station, their family members got into an argument with the sub-inspector and attacked him.

 On information, additional strength was rushed to the spot and the duo, S Akash (23) of Kodungaiyur and M Venkatesh (25), was secured. They were booked under Woman Harassment Act and remanded. Later, based on a complaint from the SI, Akash’s father Sitrarasu and relatives Amalraj, Sadhasivam and Mohanraj were arrested.
