He was 92. Radhakrishnan was also an author, under the pen name Kirakki. He had written several books covering various topics. Apart from being Chennai’s police chief, he held different positions, including Deputy Inspector General of Police, CID, Inspector General of Police, Law and Order and DGP of the State, before his retirement 32 years ago. “An ardent sports fan, he played tennis and wouldn’t miss a cricket match on television,” said a statement from his family. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami extended his condolences to the IPS officer’s near and dear ones. Radhakrishnan is survived by three daughters and a son, 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
