Newly-wed air hostess hangs self at AI quarters

 Anbarasi (28) was working with Air India since 2017 and on September 14 got married to Sarankumar (30), who works as an engineer with a private ship company. The couple was staying in the Air India 

quarters and Anbarasi’s brother Aravindan was also staying with them.

 On Wednesday morning, Aravindan left for office as usual. The couple was at home then. In the afternoon Sarankumar went out to buy lunch. On his return, he found the door locked from inside and there was no response to his knocks. On suspicion, he looked through the window and found Anbarasi hanging from the ceiling on a nylon rope.

 Based on Aravindan’s complaint, Meenambakkam police visited the spot and sent the body for post-mortem to Chromepet Government Hospital. On Thursday morning, Anbarasi’s parents arrived in the city and during inquiry, told police that Sarankumar was a caring husband.

 Anbarasi had taken one month’s leave following her wedding and joined the duty again only a few days ago. Her last flight travel was on May 14. After that, she was not on the crew list since many flights were not operating. The police have registered a case and are investigating.
