After the 5 month impasse, Chennai metro-rail services flagged off
Safety measures that entail the metro rail usage are mandatory face masks, thermal screening, installation of Aarogya Setu app for passengers, strict physical distancing while boarding and in lifts, sanitizers in the premise, PPE kits for metro staffs and more.
Chennai
Following Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri's announcement of the resumption of metro rail services from September 7, Chennai has flagged off the train, though with rigid measures.
National capital Delhi too along with state capital Chennai has resumed the metro rail services.
However, since Maharashtra's uptick of Covid cases sees no respite the state is not seen fit for this announcement.
Safety measures that entail the metro rail usage are mandatory face masks, thermal screening, installation of Aarogya Setu app for passengers, strict physical distancing while boarding and in lifts, sanitizers in the premise, PPE kits for metro staffs and more.
CMRL is wary in its restarting of metro services, only in a phased manner does the rail service gets a go-ahead.
The resuming is divided into two, namely Blue line and Green line. The former identifies with the Airport metro station and Washermenpet metro station, and the latter with St Thomas Mount station and Puratchi Thalaivar Dr MG Ramachandran Central Metro.
The Green line services will commence on September 9.
The stipulated time of the service is from 7 AM to 8 PM.
