4 from Andhra among 6 held with 10kg ganja
Nungambakkam police have arrested six men, four of them from Andhra Pradesh, in possession of 10 kg ganja.

Based on a tip-off, a team led by Assistant Commissioner Muthuvelpandi raided a house in the locality on Tuesday night and arrested Mohammed Hassan (26). Based on his inputs P Diwanji (26), a Haryana native, was held from Velachery. He spilled the beans that a gang of four men were on their way to Chennai with ganja.
Police intercepted the car and ganja was seized. Apart from 10 kg ganja, a car and a two-wheeler were also seized from the accused. The four were identified as V Abilash (23), V Saikrishna (23), A Mojesh (21) and M Sheik Noor Ahmed (21), all hailing from Guntur. All six were remanded in judicial custody.
Meanwhile, Mylapore police arrested a history-sheeter in possession of 2 kg ganja and remanded him. The accused E Saravanan (39) of Alapakkam was booked under NDPS Act and remanded. He has two cases pending against him, said police. Similarly, Abiramapuram police too arrested B Parthiban (28) in possession of the banned substance and remanded him. Also, Tirumullaivoyal police seized nearly a tonne of gutkha products hoarded in a house for distribution and have launched a hunt for the suspect identified as Murugesan.
