Helper at ICF unit dies after battery-operated vehicle rams coach

The deceased, S Parthasarathy (24) of Perambur, was a contractual employee at the division working as a helper, said the police. The incident happened on Tuesday evening when Parthasarathy tried to operate a battery vehicle.

However, the vehicle started moving in the reverse direction and Parthasarathy was unable to control the vehicle. It came to a halt after ramming a stationary train coach. In the impact, Parthasarathy suffered injuries on his forehead and fell unconscious.

He was rushed to the ICF hospital, but was declared brought dead. On information, the ICF police sent his body for post-mortem examination and a case has been registered.
