Police suspect they could have been electrocuted after coming in contact with an electric fence installed in the farmland to scare wild boars. The deceased, Raja (48) and Arumugam (20), had gone out for work on July 16 and were missing since then. While the families informed the police, passersby found their bodies near a canal in Arungkulam. There was a carcass of a pig next to them. On information, police recovered the bodies and sent them for post-mortem. “If they had suffered an electric shock, we will take action against the person who fixed the fence as it is illegal. The post-mortem results are awaited,” said police. Kanagammachathram police have registered a case of unnatural death and further investigation is on whether they were murdered and their bodies dumped there since their bodies were decomposed.
