Party drugs worth Rs 16L seized in city
Continuing the seizure of narcotics imported from abroad, the Chennai Air Customs seized 540 MDMA pills, a narcotic popular in party circuits, worth Rs 16 lakh from two parcels that arrived at the Foreign Post Office in Chennai from The Netherlands.

The first parcel was found to contain 490 green colour pills commonly known as ‘Frosch’ which is in the shape of a smiling frog’s face. Each pill contains about 160 mg of MDMA. The second parcel had 50 orange pills embossed with the iconic bull logo of the automobile company Lamborghini, which is more potent with around 200 mg of MDMA. The pills valued at Rs 16 lakh were recovered and seized under NDPS Act.
The parcels were addressed to two persons in Chennai, who have been detained. With this seizure, the agency has detected six cases of smuggling totalling 1,410 pills, valued at Rs 42 lakh, in last three weeks.
