HC seeks Corpn’s response on curtailing dengue
The Madras High Court directed the c to respond to a plea that sought to curtail the spread of dengue fever in the Chennai Municipal limits.

The first bench comprising Chief Justice AP Sahi and Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy, before whom the plea moved by advocate AP Suryaprakasam came in this regard, granted four weeks as sought by counsel Karthika Ashok who appeared for the Corporation. The civic body would have to file a response indicating the steps that have already been taken or were proposed to be taken to monitor any possible spread of dengue within Chennai, including cleaning of garbage and dealing with water clogging areas. Following this, the bench listed the case to August 12 for further hearing. The petitioner had also sought for the appointment of an expert committee of health and other experts in the field of public safety and communicable disease to consider the efficacy/adequacy of the measures taken by the city Corporation in tackling dengue menace in Chennai.
