The city police later in a press release said as many as 34 people came on a video call to convey their grievances to the Commissioner. Most of the grievances on the first day was about transactions, online frauds, e-pass, bouncing cheques, theft and land grabbing, the release said.

Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal had said that the initiative was meant to redress people’s grievances without making them venture out unnecessarily, thereby exposing themselves to the virus threat. He believes that it is possible to do the needful through video conferencing in the beginning and further by suitable followup.

As on Friday, it was announced that the new city police chief will be meeting the public on video call between 12 noon to 1 pm on all Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
