Unable to meet girlfriend, techie commits suicide
A techie, a teen and a housewife committed suicide in different parts of the city on Tuesday.

The techie, B Hariprasad of Mogappair, was said to be dejected over not being able to meet the girl he liked at his workplace due to the lockdown and committed suicide by hanging on Tuesday night. His family rushed him to Kilpauk Medical College Hospital where he was declared brought dead. The JJ Nagar police have registered a case and further investigation is on.
In another incident on Tuesday afternoon, a woman in Maduravoyal lit herself on fire in an attempt to scare her husband out of his smoking habit. She was rushed to Kilpauk Medical College Hospital, where she died without responding to treatment on Wednesday. The deceased, Ranjtha alias Esther (35) of Janaki Nagar, was the wife of Thomas. Unable to overcome the shock, Thomas tried to hang self in the house but was rescued by his brothers-in-law. He has been admitted to SRMC hospital for treatment. The Maduravoyal police have registered a case on both the incidents.
In a third incident, a 17-year-old boy hanged self in the house as his parents allegedly refused to buy him a motorbike in Ramapuram. B Yashwanth was rushed to SRMC Hospital in Porur but was declared brought dead. The Royala Nagar police have registered a case and further investigation is on.
