The arrested person was identified as Dinesh from Vellore and the police seized 1 kg of ganja from him.

The police received a tipoff that two youngsters are supplying ganja on a bike in ECR.

They targetted youngsters and provided ‘door-to-door’ delivery’. Acting on the tipoff, police nabbed two men talking under a tree on the roadside on suspicion. While one of them escaped, police arrested Dinesh. On checking his bag, they found many small packets of ganja weighing about 1 kg in total.

After conducting an enquiry, the police said that Dinesh smuggled the ganja from Andhra Pradesh and managed to reach Kadapakkam village off ECR by travelling on his two-wheeler. He was staying with his friend Imman and both of them were supplying ganja to customers on the ECR.

Police sources said that Dinesh had many customers, who would order ganja through mobile phone. The duo used to go and deliver the contraband at the places chosen by customers.
