The crew, which also had animals such as camels, horses and a few dogs, had reached Tiruvallur in February. They were camping at Ekkadu with due permission and running three shows daily. While they had been allowed to stage shows up to March 22, they could not shift to another city due to the nationwide lockdown.
Tiruvallur Deputy Superintendent Gangadaran, who received information about the circus crew, collaborated with an NGO to provide the stranded people with vegetables and other essentials for a week.
Inspector Ravikumar and team visited the crew along with veterinary doctors and subjected the animals to medical tests to assess their health condition. Dog food and horse gram for camels and horses were also provided by the police team.
