A well-known cycling enthusiast, Sylendra Babu has been dishing out advice with demonstrative videos through his social media that can be followed by people of all ages. The idea is to inspire everyone to be active instead of just sitting at home during the lockdown.

In the latest videos he posted, the officer talks about eating healthy. And his followers – most of them curious to know about his fitness mantra – are going gaga over the posts.

He advises including a lot of protein in breakfast. In one of the videos, he talks about having three eggs, black chana, apple, musk melon and milk for breakfast. “I like dosa and idli very much. But I don’t eat those items much. You can eat egg and chicken for protein and it helps you to be immune. There is no harm in eating egg and chicken during corona time,” he says, adding that eating eggs helped him maintain health for the last two decades.

When asked, he also clarified that he would eat the yellow of only one egg, as the importance is more on egg white. Vegetarians can add nuts and grams to their diet to increase protein intake.

For lunch, eat less rice and more vegetables, he says. He depends more on spinach, vegetable curries and, if possible, fish curry. Don’t eat too much rice, he reiterates. For those addicted to evening snacks, he has one advice – ditch them. If that is not possible, have fruits. “Don’t eat deep-fried items,” he notes.

“Don’t be under the impression that you always have to fill your stomach. Reduce the intake, the body will be happy to adjust,” he points out.

Those who follow him say Sylendra Babu has shown how to fight ageing with continuous workouts. “I believe one can get into shape whenever he or she wants, till the age of 70,” he adds. Even if it is corona time.
