    Summer spl trains to Ahmedabad to run on Saturdays

    The Southern Railway would operate special trains from Chennai to Ahmedabad to clear the summer holiday rush. The trains would be operated on all Saturdays in April, May and June, announced a statement, adding that reservation for them would open on Sunday.

    A special fare special train (train no 06051) from Dr MGR Central railway station to Ahmedabad would leave the Central station at 8.30 pm on April 4, 11, 18 and 25, May 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30, and June 6, 13, 20 and 27 (Saturdays). They would reach Ahmedabad at 4.10 am on Mondays.


    The train comprising an AC tier-I, three AC tier-III and 13 sleeper class coaches would stop at Arakkonam, Renigunta, Koduru, Razampeta, Cuddapah, Yerraguntala, Tadipatri, Gooty, Guntakal, Adoni, Mantralayam Road, Raichur, Yadgir, Wadi, Kalaburagi, Solapur, Pune, Lonavala, Panvel, Vasai Road, Boisar, Vapi, Uhdhana, Vadodara, Anand and Nadiad.


    Advance reservation for the above special trains would open at 8 am on Sunday, a statement issued by Southern Railway (SR) said.


    EMUs to skip stoppage at Senji Panambakkam


    EMUs operated from Moore Market Complex (MMC) to Tiruttani and Arakkonam would skip stoppage at Senji Panambakkam owing to engineering works in Chennai Central – Arakkonam section between Kadambathur and Tiruvallur stations from March 16 to 21.


    The Tiruttani - Velachery EMU local leaving Tiruttani at 8:50 am, Arakkonam – MMC MEMU local leaving Arakkonam at 10 am, Tiruttani – MMC EMU local Tiruttani leaving at 10:15 am and Arakkonam – Avadi EMU local Arakkonam leaving at 11:20 am from March 16 to 21 would skip stoppage at Senji Panambakkam, another statement issued by SR said.
