Chinese bizman with expired visa deported

His Indian visa expired on February 24 but continued to stay in India. Zhou claimed that he extended his stay without the travel document because of his unfinished business.

“It may not have been a problem earlier. But after the outbreak of coronavirus in his country, India has stopped issuing visa. It is possible that he thought he would get an extension for his visa. But the extension was not allowed and he was deported,” airport sources said.

Madurai Q branch team located him and detained him under Foreigners’ act in a special camp in Tiruchy. The police later approached the public secretary for a deporting order. And as per the order, he was deported to his country on Thursday night, police sources noted.

“He left for China via Bangkok on Friday early morning flight from Chennai,” airport sources said.

An official noted that he was not scared to go to China because of coronavirus.
