Chennai
Few days after the global spread of coronavirus, numerous posts have been shared by Netizens on social media platforms like WhatsApp, Twitter and Facebook claiming that Indian herbal ingredients like turmeric, ginger and garlic can prevent coronavirus.Â
When we got in touch with Dr A Cecilie Margrate, a Homeopathy specialist to know more about this, she explained, "Yes, our Indian herbs have the unique tendency to prevent any kind of infections and virus. As 'Rasam powder' consists of ingredient like turmeric which is an anti-biotic, it sure has the power to prevent foreign hosts. But, one cannot conclude that it can kill the virus."
As Rasam sadham's magic power being established, you will re-think before saying no to your mom's delicious Rasam sadham!
It is also to be remembered that Tamil Nadu dealt with viral Dengue with its 'Nilavembu kashayam', which was strongly recommended by our Health Minister Dr C Vijayabaskar and several doctors. It was even distributed for free in many hospitals.
As far as Coronavirus is concerned, ingredients like turmeric and ginger can be used for only initial preventive methods and not to be believed as the curing medicine. Consulting the doctor is highly recommended for any symptoms related to the virus. Following the guidelines of WHO is mandatory to keep a check on your health safety. Indian government is on high alert with respect to the virus spread and is taking all preventive measures to curb down the spread of coronavirus from other countries.Â
