Wife murders man, hangs body to derail probe

The police identified the deceased as Thanickavel (46), who was working with a private firm in Ennore. 

They arrested his wife Rekha for allegedly murdering him and hanging the body to make it look like a sucide.

According to the police, Thanickavel reached home at VOC Nagar on Wednesday night drunk and started beating up his children after a quarrel with Rekha. 

After the fight, Rekha allegedly strangled her husband to death with her hands. 

Later she managed to hang the body with a noose around his neck and claimed that he committed suicide.

After the police received a medical report saying that the deceased had visible signs of strangulation, they questioned Rekha. 

During the inquiry, she confessed that she killed her husband when he was under the influence of alcohol. 

She also told the police that she was angry as her husband started beating up their children. 

In a fit of rage, she killed Thanickavel and later staged the suicide drama, the police noted.
