The two-day event’s aim is to bring young intellectuals together and spread awareness on creative learning and sustainability. This fest is especially dedicated to those who look for out of the box ideas.

The entire decor of the fest will be made with upcycled flowers and relevant installations. The backdrops and banners are all recycled and hand-painted. “Every day 600 tonnes of plastic waste is being discarded in India. The best way to slow down the consumption is to recycle and upcycle the plastics that are already being used. We will be having exhibitions of social projects by a group of students from NIFT Chennai. Round table discussions on sustainability and education will be chaired by dignitaries and subject experts. There will also be a curated movie screening on sustainability and a sustainable fashion show,” says Kaustav.

Around 30 designers have collaborated for the flea market, DAMPOPsicle. “These designers will be organising saree swapping activity to spread awareness about slow fashion. We are also having an array of hands-on learning workshops such as palm leaf folding, upcycling textile waste, stone carving, pattachitra making, and caricature drawing. As art is always a major part of DAM, there will be three live art events -- one will be a live art installation where people will be painting together, second will be a live art for continuous six hours by young artists to spread awareness and third is going to be live art with musical programme,” explains the coordinator.
