“I have been visiting and volunteering with BCI over the past year. Each time I go, I see the love, affection and commitment with which everyone works every day to make the lives of the animals better. It is heart-warming to see people of all ages helping out whenever they can. I wanted to see how I could contribute beyond volunteering. As an artist, I’ve always felt how impactful art is to bring attention to a cause — because I witnessed the constant support BCI needs inthe form of donations to run such a massive operation. I came up with the idea of an exhibit of my work to raise funds to help our furry friends,” says Alamelu.

The paintings are priced betweenRs 500 and Rs 80,000, which Alamelu justifies by saying, “This way, anyone who wantsto help can ‘purchase with a purpose’ andtake home a painting.”
