According to a CBI report, they aretrying to identify the conman who impersonated PK Mishra, the principal secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

It is alleged that Aman Sharma, the regional administrator of Mahe received a call from an unknown number and the caller, claiming to be Mishra, sought favour for his daughter studying at JIPMER, Puducherry.

The Prime Minister’s Office referred the matter to the CBI saying it is a clear case of impersonation. Nearly two-and-a-half months after receiving a complaint, the agency has registered an FIR against unidentified persons under IPC sections related to criminal conspiracy, cheating, etc.

The case has been registered based on a complaint received from PK Issar, Assistant Director in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

“Sharma, Administrator, Mahe, received a call from an unknown person, who identified himself as PK Mishra, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister, asking for some favour. He said that his daughter is studying at JIPMER, Puducherry,” the PMO official said in his complaint.

“This is a clear case of fraud and impersonation of PMO official and thus CBI is requested to file a case to take further legal action,” he said in his complaint in November last year. More than two months later, the CBI has initiated the probe now.
