The duo drove pilot to the main accused’s vehicles to make sure there were no police checking en-route.

The police had already seized the car used by Omkanthan and another four-wheeler belonging to the arrested driver, Karthik.

The investigation agency further noted that they have arrested two VAOs in connection with the 2016 VAO examination malpractice in Ilayangudi, Sivagangai district.

The arrested were identified as A Pannerselvam, who has been working as VAO in Tirunelveli district and A Senthilraj of Chennai, working as VAO in Tiruvallur district.

They had paid Rs 7 lakh each to Jayakumar to tamper their answer sheets and secure VAO posts.

Jayakumar, who is now in the custody of the CB-CID for detailed interrogation, had collected crores of rupees from job aspirants looking for a shortcut to pass TNPSC examination.

The police suspect that he had been active during the last 10 years and been indulging in similar malpractices. He had at least three houses in Chennai besides many other investments, sources said.
