6 held for cutting birthday cake with machete
Just a day after a youth and his friends were sternly warned by the police for cutting a cake with machete at the former’s wedding ceremony in the city, a similar incident has been reported in Tiruvallur where six youngsters cut a cake using a sword.

According to the police, Kaviarasu (20) of Egatur in Tiruvallur, who celebrated birthday on January 26, was invited by his friends, Manikandan, Satish Kumar, Manoj Kumar, Vignesh and Sakthivel, to the Kamarajapuram ground in Selai village.
At around 10 pm, they gathered near the ground to cut the cake with a sword, blocking the road. After the residents questioned them, they allegedly verbally abused them and one of them started to swirling the sword.
When the Tiruvallur Taluk police came across the video which was circulated on social media, they picked up the youngsters on Wednesday. A complaint has been lodged and the six persons are being interrogated.
