He was addressing a public meeting in Anna Nagar to commemorate the sacrifice of Tamil language martyrs, who died while protesting against the Hindi imposition in 1965. To ensure heightened security and make crime detection easier, the second phase of CCTV cameras will be installed in all tier-one cities and all arterial roads with public movement will be covered. The multi-phased project will also extend to the municipal areas, Palaniswami said.
The State government is rated as one of the best in the country when it comes to law and order situation and the Centre recently awarded TN for its better governance, the Chief Minister said.
“Opposition leader MK Stalin has been complaining about the law and order problems in TN. Has he forgotten the gruesome political murders and the Coimbatore bomb blasts that occurred during the DMK regime? Is there any place in the world where there is no crime? TN is not only a peaceful state but continues to be a destination for investors,” Palaniswami added.
