New facilities at GMSSH to boost alternative med
Minister for Health and Family Welfare C Vijaya Baskar inaugurated Yoga, Naturopathy and Lifestyle Clinic at Government Multi Super Speciality Hospital (GMSSH) on Thursday. He also inaugurated a new entrance at the hospital.

The new hospital entrance arch has been constructed for Rs 30 lakh, while the State Health Department allocated Rs 80 lakh for the Yoga, Naturopathy and Lifestyle Clinic at the hospital. Inaugurating the new buildings at the hospital, the Minister said that the yoga and naturopathy clinic would give a boost to the alternative medicine procedures in the State.
“The general hospital wards will function in tower 1-3 in the hospital for out-patient and in-patient services and other facilities will also be provided in the same building. Various departments, including General Medicine, General Surgery, Emergency Unit, Orthopaedics Department, ENT, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry, Dermatology and Dental unit, have started functioning at the hospital,” said Dr M Ramesh, nodal officer, GMSSH.
Radiology facilities such as CT and X-ray are already functioning, while 12 operation theatres will also be soon open for use. He added that out of the seven towers at the Government Omandurar Medical College, the medical college will function in tower 4 and 5, while tower 6 and 7 will be used as a hostel.
