Woman loses her locks to hair fetish man in auto

Police sources said the victim, a 23-year-old woman, was travelling on a share auto-rickshaw on Poonamallee High Road from Nerkundram to a mall located in Aminjikarai on Sunday when the incident happened.

“When the vehicle reached NSK Nagar junction on Poonamallee high road, the woman felt some activity on her backside. She felt her back with her hand only to find her hair missing. Shocked and panicked she let out a scream. A startled driver then stopped the vehicle,” police sources said.

The driver and other passengers, who felt that the man sitting behind the victim could be the villain, over-powered and searched him. To their shock, they found that he was in possession of the hair cut from the woman’s head. The auto-rickshaw was then driven straight to Aminjikarai police station where the man was handed over to the police. The police identified the man as Karthik from Tondiarpet, who had a fetish for women’s hair. “However, the woman, who consulted her fiancé, decided against filing a complaint. They didn’t want to make it an issue as their marriage has been fixed in the coming days,” police sources said adding they had to book Karthik, working as a clerk in lawyer’s office, for some other petty offence.
