    On Sunday night, the customs intercepted one Shavushan (37) of Ramanathapuram who arrived from Colombo. On persistent questioning, he admitted to concealing gold inside the rectum, weighing about 290 gram worth Rs 11.9 lakh. 

    In the second incident on Monday, the officials intercepted Sasika Rupini (49) and Vasanthi (49), both from Sri Lanka. The officers intercepted them and recovered US dollars worth Rs 14.30 lakh. The money was seized by the officials. 

    In another incident, Mohamed Rifayudeen (25) of Nagapattinam and Seeni Ibrahim (49) of Chennai, who arrived from Dubai, were intercepted at the exit. On search, the officials recovered one gold chain weighing about 115 grams from the pant pocket of Rifayudeen. On further search, six bundles of gold in paste form was recovered from their rectums. On extraction, the gold weighed 782 gram. One of the passengers was arrested. In the last incident, officials intercepted Hikmuthullah (40) of Tiruchy, who arrived from Abu Dhabi. On questioning, he admitted to concealing gild in his rectum. The officials recovered three bundles weighing about 457 gram worth Rs 18.80 lakh. The passenger was arrested.
