Couple who got hitched on Petta release day, names child on Darbar’s 1st day

A year after getting married at Woodlands theatre on the release date of Petta, a city-based couple, both die-hard fans of Rajinikanth, held the naming ceremony for their newborn at the same theatre on Thursday, when their Superstar’s latest flick Darbar hit the screens.

Like the wedding, the entire expenditure for the naming ceremony was also borne by Rajini Fans Club of South Chennai (East) District. While DT Next had reported the marriage of Anbarasu and Kamatchi last year, when contacted, Anbarasu said that he is really blessed to achieve two important milestones on the same day as the release dates of Rajini movies.

While Kamatchi delivered a baby girl on December 16, four days after Rajinikanth’s birthday, Anbarasu’s initial plan was to name the child in the month of Thai (after January 15). “Just two days ago, I thought of naming the child on Darbar’s release date and informed PS Sinora Ashok, district secretary, South Chennai (East) of Rajini Makkal Mandram. He was always in touch with us after our marriage and he immediately agreed when I proposed to name our daughter on January 9. But I did not expect that he would make a grand ceremony out of it,” said Anbarasu, who lives in Padappai with his family and works as a security in-charge at a private firm.

Apart from a gold ring and anklet for the child, the fan club also provided the couple with everything the child would require for the next few months. “My daughter has been named Sindhu,” said Anbarasu.

Sinora Ashok, when contacted, said that he was always in touch with Anbarasu as part of the activities of Rajini Makkal Mandram. “We decided to name the child Sindhu wishing her success like badminton player PV Sindhu. We also celebrated Pongal at Woodlands theatre complex with fans. Breakfast was also arranged for 1,500 fans who had booked tickets for the 8 am show at Woodlands,” Ashok said.

When Anbarasu and Kamatchi met Rajinikanth after the wedding last year, the actor had blessed the couple to meet him again with a child this year. He had also gifted them a silk saree and a photo of Mahavatar Babaji. Now Anbarasu is eager to meet his Thalaivar again, this time with his daughter Sindhu.
