Schaeffler India provides scholarship to 32 engg students
Schaeffler India Limited, an industrial and automotive supplier, announced the HOPE Engineering Scholarship Programme 2019-20 for its beneficiaries recently.

Through this initiative, Schaeffler India provided scholarships to 32 meritorious students from financially disadvantaged families, who aspire to build a career in the field of engineering. Special preference was reserved for women candidates who had applied for this programme. The initiative was implemented with Buddy4study Foundation.
The engineering scholarship initiative is part of Schaeffler India’s continuous endeavour towards empowerment through education. To avail the grant, students from Gujarat, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu applied online and were selected by fulfilling the eligibility criteria and going through a personal interview session conducted by a jury of eminent members of Schaeffler India.
Commenting on the occasion, Santanu Ghoshal, vice president, Human Resource - Schaeffler India, said, “The youth of the country must be given equal opportunities to build a nation that is self-sustaining and progressive. It is dreams that give us hope and purpose in life but financial support plays an important role in accomplishing those dreams. The Schaeffler India HOPE Engineering Scholarship 2019-20 is aimed at helping promising youth, especially young women pursue a career in the field of science and engineering. It is our constant endeavor to be able to encourage underprivileged youth to enter and excel in these fields and become independent. We believe everyone deserves the chance to pursue their dream, and Schaeffler India is committed to making that happen. The education expenses of the selected engineering students will be supported every year, till they complete their course.”
Ghoshal added, “We have to admit that the entire process of identifying and selecting the candidates for this programme has been an enriching experience and wish the students a bright and successful future.”
A total of 32 students have been selected from Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Gujarat for this programme. Besides the HOPE Engineering Scholarship initiative, Schaeffler India also runs the Schaeffler Technical Enhancement Programme in Pune and Hosur as well as other initiatives under the large umbrella of its HOPE CSR programme to empower the underprivileged youth through education andskill development.
