54-year-old dead in revenge killing

A young woman who murdered a 54-year-old man by slitting his throat with a knife after gluing his eyes shut has been arrested at Washermenpet.

Preliminary inquiries revealed that the two were in a relationship, but he allegedly threatened her and her family members of leaking her obscene photos online as she decided to marry another person.

On Monday night, the police control room received information that a middle aged man was found dead with injuries around his neck near the Cross Road in Washermenpet. The New Washermenpet police were alerted and they retrieved the body and sent it to Government Stanley Hospital for post-mortem.

He was identified as Sekar alias Amman Sekar (54) of Mettu street, Sathangadu in Tiruvottiyur, who was into camphor business, and inquiries with his family revealed that he went out with one 23-year-old Pallavi (Name changed ) of Sathuma Nagar in the same locality.She was secured and police taken aback by her confession. 

She reportedly told police she was sexually assaulted by Sekar for over four and half years and even her own family members did not help her. Police said that Pallavi and Sekar's daughter pursued different degrees in the same college. 

Sekar and Pallavi developed a relationship when she often visited Sekar's house when she was only 18. However, over the years, she could get out of his clutches and was allegedly sexually assaulted several times. Meanwhile, Pallavi decided to marry another person which infuriated Sekar. 

He threatened both Pallavi and her family members, after which she decided to eliminate him. On Monday, she asked Sekar to come with her to Adyar and they returned to Washermenpet where they usually meet. 

While they were speaking, Pallavi told Sekar to close his eyes as she has a surprise gift for him and applied a strong glue on his eyes. When he could not open his eyes, she slit his throat with a knife and murdered him. She has been detained for further investigation.
