Unmarried couple found dead in Avadi

The woman was identified as Lakshmi (35) of Veerapuram, while the man remainsunidentified.

After being separated from her husband a few years ago, Lakshmi has been living with children and relatives. However, in the last few months, she is said to have been living with a man at rented a house in Nandavanamettur near Avadi.

Neighbours sensed a foul odour emanating from the house that remained locked for the last two days, and alerted the Avadi police.

When they broke open the door, the police team found both Lakshmi and the man dead. Lakshmi was found hanging from the ceiling while the man who was found lying dead on the floor. The police suspect he could have consumed poison. No suicide note was found in the house.

The Avadi police registered a case and further investigation is on.
