Thalaivar hotel to serve meals at Rs 10, fans to gift gold to newborns
Actor Rajinikanth turns 70 today and his fans are going all out this year with various welfare activities organised across the State. But the fans who wish to see the actor launching his political party have to wait a little longer till mid-2020 for the party to take shape.

As part of the actor’s birthday celebration, one of his die-hard fans, Dr K Veerababu, opened “Uzhaippali” (Worker) hotel at Manapakkam to serve meals at a low of cost of Rs 10. “I had run a herbal canteen at the city corporation headquarters — Ripon Buildings for over seven years. Now I have started this hotel to serve the poor with healthy and herbal food at a very low cost. I have been a fan of superstar’s films and to mark his birthday I started this hotel,” Veerababu said, noting that the hotel was inaugurated by two women construction workers on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, at RK Nagar, the local Rajini Makkal Mandram announced that they would gift a gold ring to babies born on Thursday at 47th Division Maternity Hospital. “We will also present new clothes and other essential items for all the babies at the hospital on Thursday,” TM Balaji, area secretary of RMM said.
The RMM’s North Chennai and Central Chennai districts units will also hold welfare assistance like free sarees and dhotis, notebooks and tri-cycles for differently -abled persons. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth’s brother Sathyanarayana Rao told reporters at Kaveripattinam in Krishnagiri district that the actor would certainly launch his political party next year. “In 2021, the actor would visit every village to canvas support for his party when he contests the election as the Chief Ministerial candidate,” he said.
