    The police are on the lookout for a gang of three men who allegedly arrived in Thoraipakkam in an auto rickshaw and stole a bike there on November 23.

    According to sources, the gang stole a bike owned by Ranjith of Villupuram who works in a private bank at Perungudi here in the city. Ranjith was residing in Kumaran Nagar in Thoraipakkam off the Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR). Around 2 am on November 23, three men arrived in an autorickshaw and got out wearing helmets. After an hour, around 2.50 am, one of the suspects fled with the motorbike while others escaped in the autorickshaw, the police said after inspecting CCTV footage. Ranjith then lodged a complaint at the Thoraipakkam police station. The police said that the suspects targeted bikes of bachelors staying in rented premises in Perungudi and Thoraipakkam.
