Cops hunt for thief who returned bike after video of theft went viral
The city police are on the lookout for a man who stole a two-wheeler from Pallikaranai two days ago and later parked it back at the same spot.

The police said that the accused returned the vehicle after CCTV footage of the incident went viral.
Thirty-five-rear-old Karthick, a resident of Anna Nagar in Pallikaranai runs a dance class in Jayachandran Nagar in Pallikaranai. On Tuesday, when he came out of the dance class on Tuesday, he noticed that his bike was missing. When he went through the CCTV camera in the area and spotted a youth standing near the bike and talking on the phone from 10.30 pm to 11 pm. He then looked around to check if anyone was watching and then stole the two-wheeler. Karthick then filed a complaint with the Pallikaranai police and submitted the CCTV footage.
He also circulated the video on social media and soon, it went viral. On Thursday morning, when Karthick arrived for the class, he found his bike parked on the same place from where it was stolen. He informed the police about it and they said that the culprit may have returned the bike as the incident was recorded in the CCTV camera. The police have registered a case and are searching for the suspect.
