Bizman attempts to burgle ATM after suffering loss, held
A 30-year-old man who suffered loss in his rice business attempted to burgle an ATM in Mogappair in the wee hours of Monday. However, JJ Nagar police reached the spot and arrested him after the bank officials at the central office in Mumbai found the suspicious movements live through the CCTV cameras and alerted the local station.

The arrested person was identified as V Silambarasan (30) of Nerkundram. A native of Dharmapuri, Silambarasan is said to be an engineering diploma holder and was into the rice business.
He allegedly suffered loss to the tune of Rs 6 lakh and decided to loot an ATM to settle his loans. Police said that he chose the Andhra Bank ATM in Mogappair as he monitored the street it was located on and found it be desolate in thenight hours.
Around 2 am, the central control room of Andhra Bank in Mumbai received an emergency alarm and the staff immediately alerted Mogappair police station. Inspector Murugan and team rushed to the spot and found a man breaking openthe machine.
Police chased and secured him when he tried to flee and seized the tools that were used to break the ATM.
By the time police arrived, Silambarasan had managed to remove the monitor from the machine and had the access to the cash chest. However, the cash inside the machine remained intact, said police. “If there had been a delay in reaching the spot, he could have escaped with the cash,” said an officer. Silambarasan was arrested and remanded in judicial custody on Monday.
