11 sovereigns burgled from house in Avadi

The victim, Manikandan of Kattur near Avadi, had gone out for work on Friday and his wife, a private firm employee, was also away from home. When Manikandan returned home on Friday night, he found the house was broken open and valuables kept in the cupboard were missing. Based on a complaint, the police have registered a case and further investigation is on.

Meanwhile, an express train passenger lost nine sovereigns to an unidentified thief on Saturday. Ravikumar was travelling with his wife and children from Andhra Pradesh to Chennai, but he found the gold missing near Arakkonam. Based on his complaint, railway police at MGR Chennai Central have registered a case.
