Woman phone thief nabbed

The arrested woman was identified as Priyanka from Broadway. The police said she used to be a flower seller before giving it up and began stealing from the passengers travelling in suburban trains. The police recovered one-sovereign gold bangle, four mobile phones and Rs 25,000 from her. The Beach-Chengalpattu EMU departed from Tambaram around 6.30 pm. The train was crowded and the passengers in the ladies’ compartment noticed Priyanka trying to steal a mobile phone from the handbag of a woman. They caught her and after the train reached Perungalathur railway station, she was handed over to Tambaram Railway police.
