Couple killed, two injured as car rams into bus on GST Road
A couple was killed and two others were injured after the car in which they were travelling hit the median and rammed into a private bus coming in the opposite direction near Acharapakkam on GST Road in the wee hours of Monday.

The deceased were identified as Ezhumalai (61) and Susila (49) of Nungambakkam and the injured were Muruganandam (35), their relative, and the car driver Dinesh (30).
The police said that Ezhumalai, Susila, and Muruganandam were on their way to Kallakurichi to attend a wedding. Around 4 am, when they were on the GST Road near Tholupedu, the driver, Dinesh, lost control of the car. The vehicle jumped the median and rammed a private bus on the opposite side of the road. In the impact, all four of them suffered severe injuries.
The Acharapakkam police who arrived at the spot found Ezhumalai and Susila dead. Muruganandam and Dinesh were taken to Chengalpattu Government Hospital and the bodies were sent for post-mortem examination.
The police said that the driver could have been sleep deprived and that could have caused the accident. The Acharapakkam police have registered a case.
