Two arrested for snatching chain from woman near Pazhavanthangal

The accused were identified as P Santhosh (26) from Saidapet and U Abhishek Raj (22) of Venkatapuram. The police recovered 8-sovereign gold and a bike from them.

They were arrested based on a complaint filed by Padmaja (66) of Nanganalur. On September 5th while Padmaja was walking on the street in Nanganalur two men on a bike snatched her gold chain and fled. Padmaja filed a complaint with the Pazhavanthangal police station and the officers combed through CCTV footage to zero in on Santhosh and Abhishek. On Tuesday, the police arrested and remanded them in judicial custody. Both were involved in multiple chain snatching incidents in thelocality, said the police.
